Authors--how to be a GREAT RAdio interview

Radio needs to fill air time. So why not fill that air time with you?
After all, you are the expert, you are the professional with the answers or solutions to help your readership.
You have written a book—your passion.  Now it is time to turn that passion into publicity. Your book is the vehicle for what is regarded in the media world as your “platform” to present your position or message. And it is your voice they want to hear!
How do you prepare for a (great) radio interview?

Female authors headlining in Buffalo...

Female authors are the headliners at the Buffalo Fantasy League's three-day EerieCon 14 international convention, which opens today in Days Inn Niagara at the Falls, Main Street and Rainbow Boulevard, Niagara Falls.
Guests of honor are Catherine Asaro and Lois H. Gresh. Gresh, author of last year's vampire story "Blood and Ice," has had six New York Times best-sellers. She reads at 1 p.m. Saturday and takes part in several afternoon panels.
Asaro, a Nebula Award winner, is best known for "Diamond Star," a sci-fi tale of an idol talent search. She will perform some of the songs she wrote for it in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, after appearing in some of the afternoon panels. Both of them also are in discussion groups tonight and will take part in the "Women SF Writers" panel at 11 a.m. Sunday. Admission is $40 for the weekend. There also are single-day and children's rates. For info, visit

Blogging--is about listening....
Let me ask you a question: Do you think bloggers are broadcasters, or conversationalists?
This isn’t a trivial question, it gets right to the heart of your online writing, the blogging style you adapt, and your relations within your own social media universe.

another strange story about the Heavens Gate Cult....

Fifteen Year Anniversary: What Was Really Behind Heavens Gate?

I've seen some truly bizarre things happen like a missing videotape suddenly fall out of thin air after being gone for several weeks but I think the most puzzl thing was back in the '70s when I went to see two creepy people at PSU (Portland State University) to read the entire story

The Author collective

What is the Author Collective?

We are a collaborative of self-published or self-promoted authors with a common goal.  We want to vigorously promote our books and get them in the hands of people who can purchase in large quantities without the perils of the mega sized publishing houses.

Top 5 reasons that I won't read your book!

1) the title does  not sound appealling

2) the cover does not look interesting

3) The books description makes it sound dull and a repeat of other books

4)  the sample I read was mostly the index and review--I did not get enough of the actual book to make me want to keep reading

5)your last book was not very interesting, so why would I waste my time ?

Have you ever wondered if your readers felt this way?
