Stop the Silence!
When a child is abused, the physical pain is the easiest to heal. It is the emotional scars that remain. Just as a physical scar leaves an area of skin that is both hardened and malformed, the emotional scars leave a soul that is hardened-making it difficult to trust. The best thing any of us can do is LISTEN. It is the ongoing (and often family forced) silence that isolates--and makes the scars harder and more painful. SPEAK OUT!
